13 Dec 2018 National Championship Best in Breed English Bulldog
Thank you for coming out to the 2018 BBCR National Championship held at Cabarrus Arena & Events Center! The BBCR was established in 2004 and has since grown into a major international registry.
We congratulate all our winners — like Kendrick McMillian, who won Best Champion and Best in Breed with his English Bulldog, Rusty of Red Bank Bullys.
Kendrick talked to us and told us how and why he first got into dog shows. “I started showing dogs after I got injured and had to go through multiple back surgeries. I needed something to help pass the time and help me get out of the house and enjoy the outdoors with my family.”
But showing dogs didn’t become a passing fad for Kendrick. He’s been participating and showing them across multiple registries for over two years. He told us a little bit about his winning dog, Rusty.
“My dog is called Rusty of Red Bank Bullys or as we call him, Rusty. He is playful and loves people. He’s got a very laid-back temperament and he is especially gentle around kids and babies. For shows, we practice at home and relax before the time of the shows to get the nerves off.”
Kendrick is looking forward to showing dogs for years to come. “In the coming year we are looking to go plenty more conformation shows and hopefully I will have the honor of making the first Grand Champion English Bulldog for the BBCR.”
