12 Sep BBCR Owners Accept Ice Bucket Challenge, Donate Over $2k to Charitable Causes
Last week, Bull Breed Coalition Registry (BBCR) President Amy Krogman took a break from the front office to participate in the Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) Ice Bucket Challenge that is taking the social media world by storm. The registry also donated funds.
For co-owner Kamerion Wimbley, ALS hits close to home. His former teammate and friend, Tim Shaw, was diagnosed in April with the debilitating condition. In support of Shaw, the Tennessee Titans accepted the challenge. Wimbley also donated $1,000 to the cause and the (Titans) organization matched his contribution.
“Donating to ALS wasn’t a question for me,” Wimbley said. “Tim is like a brother.”
Ice Bucket Challenge pledges have generated over $106 million in proceeds, according to the ALS Association’s website.
To date, the The BBCR has also donated over $2,000 to organizations that uplift the pet community, including Find Love in Pit Bulls (F.L.I.P.), the Villalobos Rescue Center in New Orleans and the Miami Coalition Against Breed Specific Legislation (MCABSL).
“Our registry is committed to standing up for worthy causes that not only support pets, but men, women and children worldwide,” Wimbley said.
